David Lynch
RIP David Lynch.
Twin Peaks and David Lynch have been deeply influential to me. As a kid who grew up in the 90's in the PNW, I've walked the trail to the Snoqualmie Falls dozens of times throughout my life. It's very Lynchian to go to a place and feel there's a kind of inspiration and energy of things that want to be created.
I feel thankful for existing in a time to have experienced his work. Truth is, I don't even feel sad. The celebrity death that hit me in existential dread was David Bowie. Who like Lynch dared people to be bold and be weird. Bowie was also slated to be in "Twin Peaks: the Return" but passed away too soon, along with several other cast and production members of that quirky little show that almost never was. I think what keeps the sadness away is knowing that their work, both Bowie and Lynch, lives on in the art they made and in me. So many things I've created contain some elements of them in there. Maybe it doesn't manifest as possibly reality-shifting masturbation--"why not" is taking hold in my mind. I could... maybe... (unsure if I'd actually recommend Mulholland Drive to anyone)
The greater thing that lives beyond is the message to make weird stuff. Not necessarily to make it weird for the sake of being weird, but like, lean into what makes you you. Tell stories, make art, express your interests. Don't be afraid to be weird. Afterall, a queer absurd furry visual novel is kind of weird. Can't deny that.
I'm reluctant to say that the Romance scenes have alternate versions where Top/Bottom roles switch reverse. My hesitation comes from that I, personally, am not a completionist player. But I'd feel weird because the medium wants to reward the player for making choices and using their agency. For all its difficulty in creation, I enjoy interactive mediums and writing/playing with possibilities. If I were to tell a story that had no divergence, I would 100% make a comic because I think there's a wonderful artform in designing panel flows. Which is not to say that Kinetic Novels aren't also fantastic and great uses of their medium.
Thank you for being here. There's nobody else like you. This universe is more vibrant when we have weird people out here enjoy other peoples' weird creations or even if you're just vibing. Be kind, be weird.

David Lynch and his movies were fantastic. He was a legend. He may be gone now, but his creations will stay forever.
